Applied Behavior Analysis Program Requirements

The Doctor of Psychology in Applied Behavior Analysis program offers two entry points for students: a 116 credit hour post bachelors or 77 credit hour post master’s*. The program offers four areas of concentrations: Instructional Design, Developmental Disabilities, Supervision and Consulting, and the BCBA Respecialization. Student in the doctoral program must complete a dissertation four comprehensive projects, and two semester-long internships.

The BCBA Respecialization Concentration is required for students who are not already BCBA certified and/or are missing the required behavior analysis and clinical diagnostic skills. This concentration incorporates the content areas and practicum requirements to make graduates eligible for national board certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board®.

Students entering the 77 credit post-master’s who are not BCBA certified must take the BCBA Respecialization Concentration.

Students entering the 116 credit post-bachelors please see the Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis program for a list of required courses to be taken in the first two years of the program. At registration, your sections will be designated with a prefix AB for master’s level courses and PA for Doctoral level courses.

¹ PA 694 is a specialty laboratory designed for students who want to concentrate on an area that is not represented by the three concentrations available in the program. Students will coordinate this laboratory with their advisor and laboratory supervisor.
