CC 528 - Foundations of Family Therapy


Prerequisite(s): CC 512  AND CC 515  or CC 524     This course introduces students to family systems theory and its application. Basic assumptions, major issues, primary theorists, and techniques of major theoretical models of family therapy will be covered. Students will learn preventative and treatment approaches to treating specific problems that impede family functioning. Specific attention will be paid to issues of diversity and multicultural competence in family therapy. (3 credit hours)
