PC 409 - Basic Practicum Seminar I


Prerequisite(s): PC 417 , PC 418 PC 420 PC 422 PC 434 , PC 436 , PC 442 , PC 443 , and PC 446 . This yearlong course provides a small consultation group in which students examine relevant clinical and professional development issues that arise as a result of participation in the Basic Practicum. Additionally, case conceptualizations and diagnostic discussions occur reviewing assessment data, with additional considerations of rapport development, broad system issues (e.g., family, school, community, court, political, other treatment professionals/programs), and areas of diversity and difference (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability. socioeconomic status) as contextual variables. This yearlong sequence is taken while students are concurrently taking a minimum 600-hour basic practicum. (2 credits)
