PY 7009L - Functional Neuroanatomy

Functional Neuroanatomy offers a comprehensive examination of the structural and functional organization of the human nervous system, emphasizing its role in cognition, behavior, and clinical disorders. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of neuroanatomical structures, their functions, and their involvement in sensory-motor pathways, cortical networks, and higher-order cognitive processes. The course will also cover advanced neuroimaging techniques, including MRI, fMRI, and PET scans, enabling students to analyze brain structures and understand their relevance in neurological and psychiatric conditions. Additionally, emphasis will be placed on the neural basis of behavior, neuroplasticity, and the integration of neuroanatomy with clinical neuropsychology, preparing students for advanced applications in research and clinical practice.  (3 credit hours)
