PY 7004L - Advanced Assessment of Children and Adolescents


Advanced Assessment of Children and Adolescents provides an in-depth exploration of psychological assessment techniques used to evaluate cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and developmental functioning in children and adolescents. This course covers advanced topics in test selection, administration, interpretation, and integration of assessment data from multiple sources, including standardized measures, clinical interviews, behavioral observations, and collateral reports. Special attention is given to learning disorders, neuropsychological (executive functioning, attention, and memory), personality, and diagnostic assessments, as well as culturally responsive and trauma-informed evaluation practices. Students will develop advanced skills in differential diagnosis, case formulation, and report writing, preparing them to conduct comprehensive assessments in clinical, educational, and healthcare settings  (3 credit hours)
