PY 420TX - Psychopathology I: Child and Adolescent


This course surveys the major theories of the etiology of mental disorders emphasizing a biopsychosocial approach and familiarizes students with the DSM and ICD approaches to diagnosis and classification. Major theories of child and adolescent psychopathology are considered and the implications for diagnosis, consultation, and treatment are addressed. Cultural and developmental factors related to mental illness are also emphasized. (2 credit hours)
