PY 638 - Psychometrics


Prerequisite(s): PY 428 Statistics II      This course is designed to help students acquire both conceptual and applied knowledge of psychometrics. Topics covered include classical and contemporary measurement theories, reliability, validity, scale development, standardization, the various modalities and methods of assessments, their strengths and weakness, and how to select measures to answer research and clinical questions. Students will also learn data analytic techniques for reliability, validity assessments and test construction. Students will examine and critically evaluate the assumptions of assessment tools and methodologies as well as their ultimate impact on interpretations. (2 credit hours)
