PY 450X - Professional Issues and Ethics


Professional, ethical, and legal issues related to the practice of clinical health service psychology and the psychologist as clinician, consultant, educator, researcher, and member of interprofessional care teams are critically examined in this course. Issues considered include privacy, privilege, confidentiality and its limitations, informed consent, patients’ rights, malpractice, client-therapist relationships, collegial relationships, and other regulations influencing the practice of psychology. The exploration of the intersection of ethics and personal values will also be emphasized. (3 credits)
