CC 516 - Counseling and Interviewing Skills II


Prerequisite(s): CC 505 , CC 510 , and CC 515 . This course builds upon the foundation of Interviewing Skills I. Specifically, students learn ways of incorporating these techniques into models of diagnostic interviewing. This course provides the student with a solid understanding of additional interview formats, including Mental Status Examinations and the assessment of suicidal ideation and special populations. Consideration of cultural differences in establishing a relationship and conducting an interview are integral to this course. (2 credits)
