FO 664 - Community Engagement


This course affords students the unique opportunity to study the process of change that is facilitated through a variety of interventions and community engagement activities. Students will explore in-depth a selected social problem relevant to forensic mental health. Students will receive live coaching and supervision. Students will learn to synthesize information, formulate opinions, and support findings through applied learning assignments. In addition, this course will expose students to an ecological model for the purpose of increasing community awareness and offering solutions to address the selected social problem, such as identifying resources or conducting needs assessments for partnering agencies in the community.  (1 credit)
