PY 442L - Personality Assessment

Prerequisite(s):  . This course introduces models of objective and projective personality assessment and addresses variation in measurement of personality based upon conceptualization of the construct. Emphasis is placed on the administration, scoring, and interpretation of the major objective personality instruments, including the MMPI-2/A/RF, PAI, and MCMI-III. The TAT and other projective techniques (e.g. Incomplete Sentence Blank, Projective Drawings) will be reviewed. In the lab portion of this course, students will demonstrate their knowledge and skills in administering, scoring, and interpreting these instruments. Students will also present other personality assessment measures to the class in order to increase the range of tests with which they are familiar. (3 credits)
