SP 446 - Ethics and Law in School Psychology


Prerequisite(s): SP 415  and SP 416 . Professional, ethical, and legal issues related to the practice of school psychology and the psychologist as clinician, consultant, educator, and researcher are critically examined in this course. Issues considered include privacy, privilege, confidentiality and its limitations, HIPAA rules, informed consent, patients’ rights, malpractice, student-professional relationships, collegial relationships, and other regulations influencing the practice of school psychology. (2 credits)
