PC 449 - Biological Bases of Behavior This course introduces students to the structure and functions of the central nervous system, the autonomic nervous system, and the endocrine system. It is designed to introduce students to the “bio” in “biopsychosocial.” Areas covered include sensory and perceptual processes, physiological regulation of the sleep and waking cycles, eating behaviors, motivation, and affect. The etiology of psychopathology will be considered from a biological perspective, and students will develop a greater understanding of the influences of biological systems on clinical disorders. (3 credits)
