MM 526 - Diagnosis and Treatment of Mental and Emotional Disorders in Family Systems

Prerequisite(s): MM 515 Psychopathology in the Family Context  and MM 565 Systemic Perspectives on Counseling Theories 

  This course emphasizes the integration of systematic assessment and intervention procedures with couples and families, within the context of the various family therapy models. Emphasis is placed on procedural issues, critique and utilization of the current DSM, and specific problems encountered in therapeutic work with family systems. Issues of crisis intervention will also be explored. (3 credit hours)
