SP 550 - Principles of Psychometrics


Prerequisite(s): SP 565 Statistics   This course focuses on advanced statistical issues directly related to psychometric theory. Topics include the history of testing, scale construction, avoiding item bias, reliability and validity of scales, advanced factor analysis, Cronbach’s alpha, item difficulty indexes, standardized tests, and test bias. Students will create a scale of their own and make an in-class presentation on the scale’s psychometric properties. (2 credit hours)
