CAP 200 - Introduction to Research Methods


This course serves as an introduction to psychological research methodology designs and techniques to enhance the student’s understanding of the basic approach to scientific methods of the social sciences.  An overview of research methods includes discovering the basic components of creating a survey, data collection methods, and presenting the findings. The student will delve into the ethical requirements as outlined by the American Psychological Association (APA) as it relates to conducting research projects.  The course presents the basic concepts associated with identifying and employing several different types of research methods. (3 credit hours)
