SP 504 - Affective & Social Bases of Behavior: Functioning and Assessment


Prerequisite(s): SP 565 Statistics   This course will use a biopsychosocial lens to support the conceptualization assessment of social, emotional, and neuro-affective functioning in children and adolescents. The emphasis will be on designing a framework for evaluation of social and neuro-affective functioning that is mindful of developmental, cultural and contextual considerations, as demonstrated through appropriate selection, administration and interpretation of a variety of evidence-based assessment tools. Students will be introduced to the role of universal screening as a prevention and early intervention strategy will also be addressed. (3 credit hours)
