PP 8050 - Families and Couples Therapy


Prerequisite(s): PP 7301 Psychopathology II   This course introduces the student to systemic concepts as applied to families. Both theory and basic intervention skills are emphasized. Ethics in family treatment and tailoring treatment to the needs of the family, particularly as it applies to culturally-based values and issues, is also addressed. Treatment models covered include structural-strategic, Bowenian, solution-focused, and constructivist approaches, and may include others, as time permits (3 credit hours)
