PY 432L - Cognitive Assessment


This course introduces students to models of cognitive assessment of adults and children. The course requires students to learn and understand basic constructs associated with test construction and development, such as the development and use of normative data, standardization, and various kinds of reliability and validity. The history of intellectual assessment, theories of intelligence, and methods of cognitive assessment are presented. Specific emphasis is placed on administration, interpretation, and communication of results of the Wechsler intelligence tests. This course includes a laboratory in which skills in administration, scoring, and interpretation can be practiced.
