PY 464X - Basic Intervention: Cognitive-Behavioral


This course addresses basics of cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT), across a variety of mental health conditions encountered in health service settings. Students learn CBT formulations of common disorders and how to treat them with CBT. Upon successful completion of the course, students will have beginning knowledge and skills in the empirically based practice of CBT assessment, CBT case formulation, CBT interventions, and evaluation of CBT effectiveness with individual cases as well as basic knowledge of the treatment outcome literature on the efficacy of CBT including individual, group, and technology-assisted modalities as well as transdiagnostic treatment. (3 credits)
