SP 521 - Principles of Tests and Measurement


An introduction to basic concepts and methods of measurement as applied to psychological and educational testing. Practical and statistical aspects of measurement will be discussed and illustrated. Topics include validity, reliability, item selection, and referencing (both norm and criterion); interpreting test scores; base rates; using tests in decisions; social and ethical issues in testing. (3 credit hours)
