PY 434 - Intellectual Assessment


This course introduces students to psychological assessment and especially models of intellectual assessment. It explains the administration, scoring, and interpretation of the most widely used intelligence assessment instruments. The course requires students to learn and critically evaluate basic constructs associated with test construction and development, such as multiculturalism, diversity, norms, standardization, reliability, and validity. Specific emphasis is placed on interpretation and report writing using the most recent versions of the WISC and WAIS. In the lab portion of this course, students will demonstrate their knowledge and skills in administering, scoring, and interpreting these instruments. (3 credit hours)
