PY 450 - Professional Issues and Ethics


Prerequisite(s): PY 417 . Professional, ethical, and legal issues related to the practice of clinical psychology and the psychologist as clinician, consultant, educator, and researcher are critically examined in this course. Issues considered include privacy, privilege, confidentiality and its limitations, informed consent, patients’ rights, malpractice, client-therapist relationships, collegial relationships, and other regulations influencing the practice of psychology. The exploration of the intersection of ethics and personal values will also be emphasized. (3 credits)
