PY 564 - Applied Stress ManagementInducing a relaxed state is one of the major interventions in psychology, especially in health and rehabilitation contexts. This course provides a rationale for the use of such techniques by examining the concept of stress and ways of coping. It then provides an overview of the various specific techniques used to induce a relaxed state, with some guidance for use with different client populations or target problems. Direct instruction for induction procedures and subsequent use in clinical settings is provided. (2 credits) |
