PY 555 - Youth Interventions with Rap Music and Hip-HopModern Rap music and related Hip-Hop culture are increasingly influential phenomena on urban youth in particular and contemporary youth in general both in the United States and around the globe. This interactive course will explore and illustrate the use of themes, lyrics, and images in Rap/Hip-Hop as a mechanism for enriching youth interventions for various mental health issues across home, school, and community settings.
