PP 506 - Advanced Intervention: Psychodynamic TheoriesThis course will cover psychodynamic models that include Freudian Psychoanalysis, Jungian Analysis, Ego Psychology, Object Relations, Self Psychology, Intersubjective Approaches, and Relational Psychology, which focus on intrapsychic dynamics in the conceptualization of psychopathology and the treatment process. These models view the psychotherapist emphasize the importance of the psychotherapeutic relationship and the understanding of transference reactions. The class will emphasize contemporary versions of these models of intervention, including the role of culture, race, and gender. (3 credits) |
