PF 757 - Forensic Psychology Civil and Probate


This course covers the role of the psychologist as an expert witness in civil litigation, primarily involving personal injury.  Assessment issues in answering questions pertaining to damages and proximate cause, especially in such matters as forensic neuropsychology are covered.  Specialized contexts such as workers' compensation and Social Security Disability determination proceedings are introduced.  The psychologist's role in determining the need for guardianship for elderly or disabled adults, as well as additional topics in mental health law are covered.
