This course provides a basic framework for understanding the mechanisms used to maintain privilege and the balance of power, as well as the methods used to limit, oppress and restrict members of less privileged groups. It will specifically address the psychological, socio-political and economic impact that power and privilege has on your understanding of cultural, diversity, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, class, race, abledness, immigrant status and identity on children and families.
