PY 495 - Advanced Intervention: Advanced Existential-Humanistic

Prerequisite(s): PY 466 . This course advances an understanding of practicing psychology in an Existential-Humanistic way in light of the five perspectives taught in the Basic Intervention course, namely, Existential, Person-Centered, Gestalt, Transpersonal, and Critical Psychology. The course will increase conceptualization and intervention skills through addressing more thoroughly the complexity and depth of this tradition in theory and practice in everyday circumstances, including assessment, case conceptualization, therapeutic process, scholarship, and community or other “in the world” involvements and concerns.   Finally, the course will offer an increased and expanded capacity to dialogue with a diversity of stances in the practice of psychology from both the human science and natural science traditions.
